- What it means to feel pure being-ness
In this model, we have five different steps to represent unique stages on the spiritual journey. There can be many more or less for some, but we’ve found these to be the most common on our journey.
These are the five steps to spiritual awakening:
1. Whispers
This is the initial call to adventure. It is a whisper that bubbles up from the subconscious that catches your attention and leads you to start looking at yourself, your life, experiences, and relationships differently. This part can feel exciting and new.
2. The Unfamiliar
After you realize that life isn’t what it seems, you come to recognize life as a spiritual journey, an awakening of your consciousness. This can be exciting or it can also feel unsettling and unfamiliar. Your world is turned upside down! Everything you once accepted as fixed and stable can be called into question. This stage can feel lonely and isolating.
3. Ritual and Routine
The next stage calls you to commit to your spiritual path through regular practice, study, and discipline to take you deeper. This part is where the excitement starts to wear off and the consistency starts to come in. The continued ‘awakening’ is important as we often have a tendency to fall back ‘asleep.’ This stage can feel invigorating and empowering.
4. Dark Night of the Soul
At this stage, you may feel lost or aimless. This is usually represented by a huge shift or catalyst through the dark night of the Soul.
What we often don’t realize is that these challenges are because of your ego — your small self fears its own extinction in the ever-expanding field of spirit and wants to challenge your will on this journey
Deeper commitment to the path will reap the most reward here! This stage can feel heartbreaking and scary, but liberating at the same time.
5. I Am Presence
Here you come back home to yourself, but surprisingly, the process isn’t one of accumulation. Instead, it’s a process of unlearning or letting go, of continual decrease. The ‘you’ or little ‘self’ gets smaller and smaller until only pure being-ness remains. This part of the journey feels juicy and comforting.
We often oscillate from stages and steps of awakening as we navigate the veil of forgetting and our own unique path.
The path of awakening is the most beautiful, winding, long journey ever. How beautiful just to recognize the truth that such a journey is possible! Embracing it is the call of your life purpose and destiny.
