First of all, thank YOU for being here and a part of this beautiful journey. Whether you’re an OG listener or new to the pod, we wouldn’t be here without you. You guys have been so important to this process — you’ve inspired us and kept us going through everything.
Almost 30 started as our thing between the two of us, but it evolved into our thing with millions of you. We couldn’t be more grateful for your support and love. It’s truly everything.
For anyone who has been listening for a while now, you know how much your girls have evolved and changed. We still have more evolving to do (as we all do as humans), but we are really proud of our learnings so far and how we’ve allowed those lessons to shape us.
Here Are Our 5 Biggest Takeaways After 500 Podcast Episodes
Remember, these lessons can apply to everyone — you don’t have to have a podcast.
1. Sometimes the Universe Has a Higher Plan for You
Before we started Almost 30, I (Lindsey) was pursuing my acting career and I (Krista) was working so hard to become a SoulCycle instructor. Little did we know that those dreams were meant to bring us together, a catalyst for something bigger.
The Universe, God, Source had a bigger plan for us than anything we could have ever imagined — and it was the beautiful thing we created with Almost 30.
That has been the biggest lesson for us throughout this journey — learning to trust in ourselves and the Universe and allowing that to cultivate a sense of peace.
2. The Process Is the Point, So Let Yourself Enjoy It
This process has been a long, winding, sometimes messy journey, but it has taught us that the process is the point in whatever you’re doing. In starting Almost 30, we had no idea what it would become but we really dedicated ourselves to letting it evolve and found joy in the process.
You can look at other people who have gorgeous homes, go on extravagant vacations, have a beautiful relationship, or make millions of dollars and strive for that.
But if you don’t enjoy the process of getting there and love yourself along the way, then it’s not meant for you.
3. Process and Share on Your Timeline
Looking back on earlier podcast episodes, we used to share so much on a topic, feeling, or situation before we fully processed it ourselves. We have so much compassion for those versions of ourselves, but we also learned that it’s much more powerful to process before we share.
It allows us and our listeners to feel safer. This goes for anyone in any realm of life, whether it’s public, private, in business, relationships, or on social media — you deserve time and space to process.
4. Have Your Own Back
A huge ongoing lesson is having our own backs instead of overvaluing others’ opinions. We’ve gotten a lot of feedback over the last 500 podcast episodes.
We pour so much of ourselves into Almost 30, so it can be heartbreaking when people aren’t aligned with our message or project their own feelings onto us.
This is true for relationships, family, friendships, work, and all realms of life. We’ve learned to ask ourselves: How much can we have our own backs and each other’s backs? It’s powerful and freeing!
5. Allow Yourself To Heal In Community
Our community has been instrumental for us in healing our female friendship wounds. In the past, we’ve both had trouble feeling fully seen, understood, and safe with other women.
It hasn’t always felt safe to really shine. Until Almost 30.
Through our podcast episodes, listeners, our Membership community, guests, teachers, and healers we’ve worked with, we are so inspired and uplifted by seeing the power, beauty, glory, and compassion of being in community with women.
Now we’re looking ahead to the next 500! Our intention is to continue to uplevel our content, have conversations that scare us, illuminate new perspectives, and continue to bring you beautiful, engaging, funny, conversations that remind you that you’re never alone!
